Voice and message integration

Did you know that you can connect all your rugged mobile devices and people under a single voice and messaging umbrella – allowing them to securely communicate with each other, across their team or locations without needing additional phone or radio equipment?

With a Voice and Messaging solution, you can turn your existing fleet of rugged mobile, wearable and vehicle-mount devices into full 2-way voice and messaging devices, all of which are completely under your control.

Talk to us about voice and messaging

How does it work?

  1. Each device will need a small app installing, which is available for Windows, Android and iOS
  2. Your devices are configured and connected to the cloud-hosted system
  3. We work with you to create groups of teams and set the correct permissions for each user
  4. Each device is tested and is then ready to go

Make calls

Adding voice calling to your mobile devices makes perfect sense as almost all devices already incorporate a speaker and microphone – or support connection to a bluetooth headset.

By using existing devices for this core functionality, you can remove the need for your team to carry additional mobile phones and radios, saving money and reducing the amount of equipment your team need to use.

Send messages

With Unified Comms on your mobile device you can send messages to an individual, a group or the whole team. Messages can be in the form of simple text (much like an SMS) or you can send images and videos taken directly from the mobile device.

Get instant access to the entire team

With integrated voice and messaging, you get access to every member of the team that is using a mobile device – whether they be on or off site. You can provide your team with access to the entire directory or allocate them into groups with access limited to their immediate colleagues.

Contacts are listed in a single ‘phonebook’ view, which is immediately familiar to the user, with a status icon showing if the contact is online, busy or disconnected.

No more reliance on email

Email has its place in every business, but the majority of your staff based on a production line, in a warehouse or in-store are not usually given their own email address. Using the mobile devices they use every day to complete their job makes perfect sense – giving you a seamless and secure way to deliver and receive messages – without the reliance on email.

Built-in location services

Location services are built into the voice and messaging app, allowing users to see in real-time the location of their colleagues – accurate to a few meters.

This is is perfect for contacting groups of people within a specific location, understanding where a particular colleague is or messaging the person closest to a particular incident, site or customer.

Connect directly with your customers

The voice and messaging capabilities of your mobile devices can be extended further with the integration of customer-facing touch-screen interfaces, allowing your customers to connect to a team member at the touch of a button. In a store, for example, the system could be used to connect the customer to the nearest member of staff and allow a 2-way conversation to be initiated while the staff member heads in their direction.

How our customers are using voice and messaging

  • Provide retailers with the ability to instantly check pricing on the shop floor
  • Allow warehouse operators to better communicate and organise their routes with each other
  • Report damaged inbound warehouse goods with supporting photos or videos
  • Give delivery drivers remote tools to confirm customer deliveries with photographic evidence
  • Distribute health and safety message updates to all staff
  • Provide site-wide information updates

Works with all your mobile devices

One of the major advantages of a unified voice and messaging solution is that you are not tied into a vendor-only platform. This allows you to voice or message-enable all your mobile devices across the business, including your rugged mobile devices, wearables and vehicle-mount computers.

Enabling existing handheld devices to act as a mobile makes real sense, as it removes the need for people to carry multiple devices.
